Local Business Holiday Gift Expo Friday

Buy Local groups are urging Utahns to just spend a dime on every dollar of holiday spending this season on local businesses. This weekend, you can see exactly what local businesses are doing to help out the local economy at a free holiday gift expo.

Buy Local First Utah says that if Utah shoppers shift just 10 percent of their holiday spending this year to local businesses, it will keep $473 million in the Utah economy. The big-box stores will be there for your last-minute panicked shopping, but for now, why not make a trip or two to some local businesses, or check out this weekend’s great gift expo sponsored by the Salt Lake Community College’s Miller Business Innovation Center.

The event will feature vendors with great local gifts and artisan products to make your shopping stress a little less so, with the added perk of helping out your neighbors in the local business community.

Check it out, for free, Salt Lake Community College Miller Campus, 9750 S. 300 West, Friday Nov. 30, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. City Weekly
