SLC Airport to get major overhaul

Deals have been reached with major airlines to fund the $1.8 billion rebuilding of the Salt Lake City Airport. Design work is expected to start over the summer, and construction would happen in phases over at least eight years. Seismic upgrades are a major motivation for the overhaul, but officials say they also want to make the airport efficient for the more than 21 million passengers who use it every year.
