A first: Property tax billings top $1B in Salt Lake County

Tax revenue is pouring into Salt Lake County’s treasury as never before. Part of the surge reflects growth as property tax billings in 2011 topped $1 billion for the first time ever. Another factor is a welcome sign of an improving economy. The county’s share of sales tax collections was up 13.8 percent in September compared with the same month a year ago. Salt Lake Tribune
