Salt Lake County sales taxes up

A new sales-tax report by the Salt Lake County Auditor's Office shows that collections were up 2.4 percent in year-to-date comparisons between November 2009 and November 2010. "It's a very slow recovery from our perspective in terms of these revenues," said Lance Brown, the county's director of management and budget. Restaurant tax revenues lagged car rental taxes and transient room taxes on the year-to-date comparison, as well as local option and county option revenues. Deseret News
