Northrop Grumman to mark opening of expanded SLC facility
Northrop Grumman will celebrate the grand opening of its new 50,000 square foot facility expansion in Salt Lake City at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17. The company's Salt Lake City facility now measures 275,000 square feet and is home to approximately 750 engineering, manufacturing and support staff. The site, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008, is primarily a production facility for defense and commercial navigation systems and was expanded to increase factory output and accommodate growth across multiple programs. The Salt Lake City plant builds and tests highly precise navigation systems, gyroscopes and accelerometers for both military and commercial platforms. Ogden Standard-Examiner
